A celebration of the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, for both Slovaks and Czechs. The Velvet Revolution marks a turning point in the modern history of the Slovak and the Czech nations and the former Czechoslovak state. After more than 40 years, it brought the fall of the communist regime and opened the way for the transformation of totalitarian Czechoslovakia into a legal and democratic state with a pluralist party political environment.
Come join us to spend a day in the Badhuistheater and celebrate the holiday with Slovak and Czech food, culture, art, and come meet fellow Slovaks, Czechs, friends, families and any plus ones! Don’t get discouraged, even though we discuss history (and combine it with fun and drinks) during the Czechoslovak Velvet Revolution, we want to open up this event to our Dutch and international friends, so the event will be held (mostly) in English.
